LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL,'JULY 7, 1981 -4- <br />attend the meeting to resolve the questions about his <br />father's mining permit and his efforts to buffer the <br />nuisances on the property from neighbors. Whittaker <br />advised the Council that he had discussed this with <br />Carl Olinger, also. Neither Olinger appeared before <br />the Council. <br />Eder suggested that the City Council authorize the <br />City Engineer to provide the necessary contours and <br />land elevations at Mr. Olinger's expense. Mottaz moved, <br />seconded by Morgan, to authorize the City Engineer to <br />provide this data at Olinger's expense. Motion carried <br />4-0-1, Fraser absent. <br />PUBLIC INQUIRIES, DEMONTREVILLE LAKE ACCESS: Greg Foucks and Dave <br />Garloff, who live near the lake access, asked that the <br />end of 53rd Street be posted "No Parking" as drivers <br />are ignoring the signs posted down the street. They <br />asked that the City consider installing posts along the <br />no parking zones on Demontreville trail, as drivers often <br />ignorethose signs too. And, they asked that the access <br />ramp be improved as those lauching their boats were <br />getting stuck. <br />The City Council instructed the' -City Administrator to <br />post the necessary signs; to order signs indicating <br />the lake access is open the same hours as other parks <br />in the City and that ,liquor and littering are prohibited; <br />to contact the County Highway Department about putting <br />posts and cable along the No Parking zones. <br />Morgan expressed concern that the Lake Jane access is <br />also being over -used. There are often more cars in the <br />parking lot at the public access than it is designed <br />for. Whittaker said the DNR had promised signs on the <br />limits of the parking area; and that he would remind <br />them of that assurance. <br />Mottaz moved, seconded by Morgan, to instruct the City <br />Attorney to draft an Ordinance establishing tow -away <br />zones along Demontreville Trail, Lake Jane Trail, and <br />Klondike Avenue. Motion carried 4-0-1. Fraser absent. <br />KLATKE MINOR SUBDIVISION / VARIANCES: Mr. Klatke explained his <br />request for a Simple Lot division to build and earth - <br />sheltered home on the back of his property, Lot 3, <br />Huppert Add. on Jamaca Avenue.
