CITY COUNCIL MEETING, APRIL 20, 1982 <br />-10- <br />9. ENGINEER' REPORT - Continued <br />E. De i a Drainage south of Brookman�Addi'tion - Bohrer reported that <br />T <br />therhigh build up of materials south of the culvert <br />running under Co, 5. The area can be drained dry provided <br />the culvert and.. drainage area are cleared out. The City crew <br />is capable of doing the work. <br />M/S/P Eder/Mottaz instructing the City Engineer to' <br />verify <br />if -the City has a prescriptive right to do the necessary <br />drainage work, ..then proceed, based on his recommendation, to <br />correct the situation. <br />The Council requested that Gerbetz and Hagberg's be notified <br />of the impending work. <br />Bohrer reported there is also a build up of material south of <br />the tracks by the Natural Gas sub -station. Eder directed the <br />Administrator to notify . the property owners, that this area <br />is eroding and should be corrected. <br />F. S'ealcoating Needs - Bohrer reviewed a map indicating the <br />City streets presently in need of sealcoating. Estimated <br />cost for this work is $13,000. MSA maintenance funds can be <br />applied to the street maintenance budget to cover this expenditure. <br />The Engineer recommended proceeding with this work as the streets <br />will continue to deteriorate without the work. <br />M/S/P Mottaz/Morgan to authorize the engineer to proceed with <br />i aealcoating the streets recommended by the Engineer: Kelvin <br />t from Hwy 5 to Stillwater Lane; 34th Street; Hytrail Avenue and <br />Highlands Trail, within Demontreville Highlands 3rd Add & 30th St., <br />with monies from the MSA maintenance funds used to pay for the <br />project. <br />M/S/P Mottaz/Morgan to extend the meeting to 10:40 p.m. <br />10. COUNCIL REPORTS: <br />A. Mottaz - Fire Department 25th Anniversary - Mottaz reported <br />everyth ni g is moving ahead as planned. <br />B. Eder - Passed out copies of the Met Council's synoposis of <br />the new Watershed'Plan for Council review and comment. He requested <br />the Administrator to copy the cover letter to the Council members. <br />11. ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT - <br />A. Resolution on Cable Lobbying - <br />M/S/P Fraser/Eder to adopt R-82-23, A Resolution establishing <br />a cable lobbying policy. <br />B. Radio Bids for Public:Wbrks�Department - The Council reviewed <br />the bi_d_t�s'heeti. The AdffinYstrator and Maintenance Foreman <br />recommended accepting the bid from Communication Specialtiests. <br />M/S/P Mottaz/Eder to accept the low bid from Communication <br />Specialtists, for Wilson radios and base station, for a total <br />installed cost of $3,650. <br />
