LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING 11-1-83 Page 3 <br />Willard Morton stated that if lots are sold, and building permits <br />are issued, the work could conceivably be done sooner. However, <br />if per chance there were no lot sales by that time, (November 1, <br />1984) he would have to apply for an extension of time to complete <br />the work. <br />9. Commissioner Schaefer - Open Discussion <br />Following are the items discussed: <br />Improvement of loth Street (County Road 70) - Schaefer stated <br />that improvement plans were in the five year program, but the <br />plans were still tentative. <br />Landfill Water Problem - Schaefer stated that the ultimate <br />solution will probably be a well, and hopefully the problem will <br />be handled by 1985. <br />Air -stripping that is now going on at the landfill site. <br />Valley Branch Watershed District - Morgan stated that he did not <br />feel that the VBWD should continue taking the water from the Tri- <br />Lakes area and putting it into Sunfish Lake or the City Park, <br />that another solution will have to be pursued. Schaefer stated <br />that he is hopeful that the VBWD can come up with a solution to <br />this problem. <br />Construction on County Road 6. Schaefer stated that there is <br />storm sewer being put in. Consensus was to have the City <br />Administrator check out where the storm sewer was directed. <br />Waste to Energy program. <br />The possibility of Lake Elmo getting on Washington County's <br />computer special assessment system. <br />201 Sewer bonding program and the possibility of Lake Elmo being <br />included with the County's bonding figure. Schaefer stated that <br />he felt it was a workable situation. <br />Proposed racetrack site in Woodbury. <br />Schaefer stated the the County has hired a Parks Director. <br />(Morgan stated that he was pleased with the work that Pohlena, <br />from Washington County, has done in the parks.) Schaefer stated <br />is now called the Public Works Department. Schaefer further <br />stated he felt the Parks Department should be located in the Lake <br />Elmo Regional Park. <br />10. Other: <br />A. Citizens For Better Environment: Klaers stated that he <br />received a request and information packet from CBE asking for <br />permission to go door to door in the City of Lake Elmo handing <br />out literature for their cause. Klaers to advise the CFBE that <br />there is no ordinance preventing them from doing this. <br />
