Planning Commission Appointments:
The Planning Commission has two vacancies for alternate positions.
These vacancies have been advertised in the last two City Newsletters.
To date, we have received three applications for these vacancies.
Additional applications have been sent out but not returned.
It was noted that that there is a disproportional amount of members of
this commission from the northwest quadrant of the City, and the
Council is seeking applicants from the core village area of the City.
M/S/P Eder/Fraser - to cut off applications and make a decision by
March 6, 1984, on the two vacancies to the Planning Commission.
(Motion carried 4-0)
B. (Motion carried 4-0)
M/S/P Fraser/Dunn - to cut off applications and make a decision by
March 6, 1984 on the two alternate positions open on the Park
Commission. Racetrack Discussion:
Klaers stated that the Met. Council has reviewed all the factors
involved in selecting the race track site; ie: sewer, road, land use
compatibility, etc. We have not yet received the Met. Council's
comments to the race track committee on each of these factors. Also,
Washington County has passed a resolution supporting Woodbury's
efforts to obtain the race track site.
Fraser stated that, personally, she was opposed to the Woodbury site.
If the race track site would be located in Woodbury, it would bring
enormous pressure for change and development in Lake Elmo. It would
change the City very dramatically and very rapidly.
