However, her reasons for nominating Carol Kuettner is <br />because of her involvement and interest in the City of Lake Elmo. <br />Eder stated he concurred with Fraser, but was also concerned with <br />working on getting Commissioner's from areas other than around the <br />Tri-Lakes area. <br />Morgan stated he would not vote for Carol Kuettner, not because she is <br />not qualified, but because we need representation by the farming <br />element in the City and would support Rosemary Armstrong for that <br />reason. <br />Dunn concurred with Morgan. The agricultural interests of the City <br />should be represented. <br />Eder stated we must put some statistics in order. There is only one <br />dairy farmer and five or six farmers left in Lake Elmo, and the amount <br />of land they control is very small. This has to be preserved, but even <br />without representation from the agricultural element, the interest of <br />agricultural has been foremost in the Planning Commission. <br />Mazzara stated that if we are going to receive applications, and then <br />deny someone a position on a Commission, we should advise the person <br />why they are not being appointed. He further stated he did not have a <br />problem with Carol Kuettner, if Mr. Rossow will not be considered. <br />M/S/P Fraser/Eder - To appoint Carol Kuettner to the second alternate <br />position on the Planning Commission. (Motion carried 3-2 <Dunn, <br />Morgan>) <br />The Council encouraged the applicants that were not appointed to the <br />Planning Commission to apply for the Parks Commission. <br />8. Administrator's Report: <br />A. Park Grant Resolution to DNR for winter grooming funds <br />for the ski trails in Sunfish Park for 1984-85 season. <br />M/S/P Eder/Morgan - To adopt Resolution 84-32, a resolution <br />authorizing the City to submit a DNR Grant Application for winter <br />grooming funds for the ski trails in Sunfish Park. (Motion carried <br />5-0) <br />B. Parks CIP: Request to authorize purchase of used tractor <br />Pursuant to recommendation by the Capital Improvement Committee, the <br />following action was taken. <br />M/S/P Morgan/Dunn - To approve the purchase of a 1964 T035 Massey <br />Fergeson tractor from Griffith Landscape, for the amount of $2800. <br />(Motion carried 5-0) <br />
