MEMO <br />March 20, 1984 <br />TOI'll MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />FROM: PATRICK D" KLAERS, CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br />SUBJECT: INFORMATIONAL MATERIAL FOR MARCH <br />The City staff usually sends out informational material along <br />with the regular City Council agenda" However, since there is no <br />City Council meeting on March 20 and we have an abundance of <br />material to distribute, we are sending you the informational <br />material before the regular Council agenda goes out on March 29. <br />l" Attached are the two most recent City N@V1lQQE1 dated <br />March 13 and a special edition dated March 20. The Special <br />Edition Newsletter highlights articles on Assessed <br />Valuationv the 1984 Load Limits for City Streets and <br />"Reflections of a Firefighter's Wife"" <br />2" For your information, the City Finance Director, mocilyu <br />Boninter, is successfully and quickly recovering from her <br />back problems" We are not overtaxing her, and she is back <br />to work at an almost fulltime rate. <br />3^ Attached is the City Council's invitation to the Grend <br />0200ng of the Me Elmo loan This Grand Opening will he <br />held on April l, from l p.m. until 6 p.m. <br />Also, the DiangE for the retiring Commission <br />and Fire Department members is planned for Thursdayv April <br />12 starting at 7 p"m^ and will be held at the Lake Elmo Inn. <br />Invitations will be sent out to all City Council, Commission <br />and Fire Department members" Notice was placed in the March <br />20 City Newsletter. <br />4" Attached for your information is the F9099EYo 1984, WN <br />RIUgEt from the Washington County Sheriff's <br />Office" Again, this report shows nothing unusual with a <br />typical number of miles, complaints and citations listed" <br />5" For the first time, the City has received a Mgnthly EpUgEt <br />Rom M ENO WaAment, This report indicates the total <br />number of calls and manpower that responded to each <br />incident in February, 1984" The total dollar loss estimate <br />was very low for the 13 calls" <br />6^ Attached is the 3~7~84 St. Paul Dispatch article on the <br />proposed Lake Elmo WgpQ to QgEgy plgnt" It appears that <br />the cost of this facility is starting to scare some of the <br />County Commissioners. I am not sure if the future of this <br />plant is in doubt, but, some concerns are certainly raised <br />in this article. If anything major takes place regarding <br />this facility, I am sure we would be contacted immediately" <br />
