LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 12-18-84 PAGE 7
C. "Light Up Lake Elmo Resolution"
M/S/P Eder/Morgan - To adopt Resolution 84-80 expressing the
appreciation and thanks of the City Council for the efforts of the
"Light Up Lake Elmo" committee, and chairperson Carol Kuettner in
obtaining the new Christmas decorations in the downtown area. (Motion
carried 5-0)
D. Other
Eder advised the Council that the Cable Commission extended the time
to make a decision on the extension requested by Group W. They did
not complete the maps for Lake Elmo, but is one thing that he will
make sure the members of the Council get, along with his comments.
9. City Administrator's Report
A. Hanson Rockin "L" Cup renewal
The Council reviewed the Hanson's application and their 1984 CUP. The
Administrator noted that everything is in order for the renewal of
this CUP, and the staff has had no complaints about the operation of
the Rockin "L" Trailer Sales.
M/S/P Dunn/Morgan - To adopt Resolution 84-81 renewing the Hanson
Conditional Use Permit for the operation of the Rockin "L" Trailer
Sales for 1985 at 10824 Hudson Boulevard. (Motion carried 5-0).
B. Commission vacancies
The Administrator made reference to the section of the City Code which
states that "No member may serve more than two consecutive three year
terms unless the average years of service for all the Commission
members is less than four years". He stated that the average length
of service on the Planning Commission is more than four years, but
feels that it is very important to have some consistancy in enforcing
the Code, and also some knowledge of the Code, and recommends that
this phrase either be deleted from the Planning Commission code, or
that this condition be waived for the 1985 appointments.
Consensus of the Council is to defer this item until the new City
Council meets in January of 1985.
C. Other
The Administrator advised the Council that Community Education is
looking for a location to hold some classes during the first- few
months of 1985. They are not specifically indicated as one of the
approved agencies to use government buildings in Lake Elmo (they
charge a fee and our policy indicates that it should not be used by
anybody that charges a fee for their services). Community Education
has indicated their desire to donate $50 to the Lake Elmo Fire
Department.
M/S/P Frasr/Morgan - To allow Community Education the use of the Lake
Elmo Fire Hall for various classes to be held the first few months of
1985. (Motion carried 4-1 <Dunn>).
