LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 5-7-85 PAGE 9
D. City Employees
1. Maintenance Foreman
The Council discussed the four canidates that were interviewed prior
to this meeting and the following action was taken.
M/S/P Mazzara/Armstrong - To hire Dan Olinger as the Lake Elmo
Maintenance Foreman. (Motion carried 4-0-1 <Morgan>)
M/S/P Armstrong/Mazzara - To pay Dan Olinger $24,330 for the first
six months of his employment and after successfully completing his
probabitionary period to increase this pay to $25,546. (Motion
carried 5-0)
2. Administrative Secretary
M/S/P Mazzara/Morgan - To approve the hiring of Sharon Lumby as the
Administrative Secretary at the rate of $6.80 per hour with an
increase to $7.14 per hour after succussfully completing her six month
probationary period. (Motion carried 5-0)
3. Planning Commission Secretary
Dunn questioned the need for this additional person as up to now the
City has only had 2 full time employees and 1 part time employee.
With the hiring of the new administrative secretary and a planning
commission secretary, the City would be increasing its staff to 3 full
time and 1 part time.
The administrator stated that the work load has increased greatly and
by hiring this extra person, the planning commission minutes would be
done in a more timely fashion.
Morgan/Armstrong - To table the hiring a planning commission secretary
until the administrative secretary is on board to see if there is
indeed a need for this additional person. (Motion carried 5-0)
M/S/P Mazzara/Christ - To extend the meeting until 10:50 p.m.
(Motion carried 5-0)
E. Other
1. Meed Employee
M/S/P Christ/Mazzara - To employ a MEED employee through Washington
County subject to the applicant meeting the approval.of the City
Administrator and Maintenance Foreman. (Motion carried 5-0)
2. Lake Rules
There is a conflict between the wording for lake rules that was
discussed at the last meeting and the wording that the DNR will
accept. Something will have to be worked out to clarify these rules
and will be brought back to the Council at a later date.
