LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES AUGUST 2, 1986 PAGE 5 9. CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT A. RESOLUTION NO. 88- APPOINTING ELECTTO GNATING AND 8TH A list of residents who have agreed to be election judges at the September 13th Primary and November 8th General Election was provided. M/S/P Armstrong/Graves - to adopt Resolution 88-33 designating the Lake Elmo Fire Hall, 3515 Laverne Avenue North as the official polling place for the City of Lake Elmo for the Primary Election September 13, 1988 and the General Election November 8, 1988, and to approve the list of election judges, with two additions; contingent upon each judge attending the City's training session as required by law. (motion carried 4-0). M/S/P Graves/Johnson - to set the wage of $3.75 for election judges and $4.25 for head judges for the 1988 primary and general election. (Motion carried 4-0). B. APPOINTMENT TO PLANNING COMMISSION The City has received the resignation of 'Tom Simpson from the Planning Commission. Tom was a full voting member and was appointed in January of 1987 to a three year term. The staff will. advertise this position in the next newsletter. M/S/P Armstrong/Graves - to accept the resignation of Tom Simpson, and appoint Al Kunde (1st Alternate) to a full -voting member, to complete his term which expires December 31, 1989. (Motion carried 4-0) M/S/P Johnson/Graves - to move Dean Johnston up to 1st Alternate with the 2nd Alternate seat vacant and direct the staff to advertise this position in the next newsletter. (Motion carried 4-•0). C. APPOINTMENT OF DISTRICT MANAGER TO VBWD The City received a letter advising them that the term of Russell Kirby, Board of Managers Valley Branch Watershed, expires November 13, 1988. Since the deadline for nominees is October 13th, the City Staff will research the background on this issue and report back to the Council.
