LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES JANUARY 3, 1989 PAGE 3 <br />( M/i Moe/No Second - resolved that the Council hereby appoints <br />Council member Chuck Graves to serve as Acting Mayor in the absence of <br />Mayor Dunn. <br />M/S/P Hunt/Dunn - resolved that the Council hereby appoints Council <br />member Todd Williams to serve as Acting Mayor in the absence of Mayor <br />Dunn. (Motion carried 3-lkMoe>.) <br />B. DESIGNATION OF OFFICIAL DEPOSITORIES <br />Finance Director, Marilyn Banister, has recommended that the City <br />remain with the official depsitories utilized by the City in the past. <br />M/S/P Williams/Hunt - resolved that the following institutions are <br />hereby designated official depositories of the City of Lake Elmo for <br />1989: (Motion carried 4-0). <br />State Bank of Lake Elmo, Lake Elmo <br />Washington Federal, Stillwater <br />American National Bank, St. Paul <br />Offerman & Co., Stillwater <br />Merrill Lynch, Minneapolis <br />4-M Fund (League of Cities), St. Paul <br />(1) Status Report --Auditor's Recommendations <br />Finance Director, Marilyn Banister, reported the tenant of the Old <br />City Hall has paid outstanding rent due of $6,000, but as of December <br />31, 1.988 he is four months ($2,000) in arrears. The Council asked for <br />a status report in one month. Councilman Williams has had two <br />parties, who were interested in renting this buidling, contact him. <br />Banister added that all other items have been resolved except for <br />establishing computerized fixed assets inventory and accounting <br />records and money has been put in the 1989 Budget for a computer <br />update. The Auditors will be forthcoming with a recommendation for a <br />program to fit our needs. Councilman Williams suggeted she call. the <br />Auditors and set up an appointment. <br />C. DESIGNATION OF LEGAL NEWSPAPER <br />The Oakdale -Lake Elmo Review has been our official legal newspaper fox <br />the last two years. The Review now prints and distributes our <br />Newsletter at no cost to the City. They anticipate that their legal <br />publication rates will remain the same as 1988 ($6.92 per column inch) <br />and estimate circulation in Lake Elmo at 1,500. <br />M/S/P Hunt/Williams - resolved that the Oakdale -Lake Elmo Review is <br />hereby designated as the City's official newspaper or 1989. (motion <br />carried 4-0). <br />
