LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES JANUARY 3, 1989 PAGE 4 <br />( D. APPOINTMENT OF CITY CONSULTANTS <br />(1) City Engineer <br />Since 1979, TKDA has provided engineering services for the City in a <br />professional and cost-effective manner, and at at a level of service <br />commensurate with the desires of the City. TKDA has indicated <br />interest in continuing providing services'as our -City Engineer in 1989. <br />A. summary of General Services and Special Services was provided. <br />M/S/P Williams/Hunt - resolved that Larry Bohrer, of TKDA, is hereby <br />appointed City Engineer for 1989. (Motion carried 4--0). <br />(2) City Attorney <br />Fritz Knaak, of Rauenhorst, Carlson & Knaak, has indicated his <br />interest in continuing his services as City Attorney. A summary of <br />their services and billing information was provided. <br />M/S/P Hunt/Dunn - resolved that Rauenhorst, Carlson & Knaak, Fritz <br />Knaak, is hereby appointed. City Attorney for 1989. (Motion carried <br />3-10loe>.) <br />(3) City Prosecuting Attorney <br />Carl Blondin, who served as prosecuting attorney for the City, has <br />determined that he is unable to continue this service for 1989 due to <br />his leaving the Caswell firm. Mr. Blondin has been replaced by Glen <br />Jacobsen who has had prosecution experience with the cities of Ham <br />Lake and Coon Rapids. <br />The City received a Letter of Interest from Caswell & Assoc. to <br />continue the firm's criminal prosecution work for the City. They have <br />requested a $50/month increase in their retainer fee. <br />M/S/P Hunt/Williams - resolved that Caswell & Assoc., is hereby <br />appointed as Prosecuting Attorney for 1989. (Motion carried 4-0). <br />(4) City Financial Consultant <br />The City, in the past, has retained the services of Juran & Moody for <br />financial consulting purposes, The Counci.l,indicated their desire to <br />interview other firms and requested a proposal consisting of a <br />proposed contract, incorporating their fee schedule, summation of <br />services, and a listing of communities their organization has <br />serviced. <br />M/S/P Hunt/Williams - to direct the staff to prepare a comparison of <br />Financial Consulting Firms; subject to selection by staff, - <br />consisting of fee schedules, background, services provided and <br />communities their organization serves. (Motion carried 4-0). <br />
