LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES JUNE 6, 1989 PAGE 10 <br />M/S/P Williams/Hunt - to direct the City Attorney to review the Mining <br />Ordinance. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />D. Award of Bid - Parks Mower <br />The 1989 Budget provided for an expenditure of $500.00 for a <br />self-propelled mower for the Parks Department. The mower will be used <br />largely for cutting of slopes and around trees and structures. The Public <br />Works Supervisor has received four quotes for the mower: Polfus <br />Imp-$379.00, Century Power-•$380.00, Meier's Hardware--$423.71, Gary Lee <br />(Homelite)--$379.00. Dan Olinger recommended purchasing the John Deere <br />mower fo Polfus Implement, in the amount of $379.00, as they have been <br />excellent in the past with service and parts. <br />M/S/P Graves/Dunn - resolved that the Council hereby approves the purchase <br />of a John Deere, 4 1/2 HP, self-propelled 21" mower from Polfus Implement, <br />in the amount of $379.00. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />E. Discuss July 4th City Council Meeting <br />The first regularly scheduled meeting in July falls on the July 4th <br />Holiday. In the past, this meeting has been cancelled. <br />M/S/P Hunt/Graves - to cancel the July 4th City Council meeting. (Motion <br />carried 4-1: Moe)TToe: He was available for the meeting. (Amended 7/18/89) <br />F. Satellite Inquiry - Councilman Moe <br />Councilman Moe had received a complaint, conducive to the health, safety <br />and welfare, on the rental farming done in the City without the <br />convenience of portable satellites. The staff will look into how other <br />areas are addressing this situation. <br />G. Council Workshops <br />M/S/P Graves/Moe - The City Council will hold a workshop relative to <br />Section 32 on Tuesday, June 13th at 7:30 a.m. at City Hall.. (Motion <br />carried 5-0). <br />M/S/P Graves/Hunt - The City Council will. hold a workshop on the 1989 <br />Budget on Tuesday, June 27th, at 7:30 a.m. at City Hall. (Motion carried <br />5-0). <br />H. Other: <br />Connie Wichelmann and a neighbor expressed an interest in purchasing a <br />City parcel, of just under one acre, south of 28th St. N. off of <br />unimproved Ivy Avenue, to enlarge their existing residential lots. The <br />Council expressed a desire in selling and requested the City Assessor be <br />contacted to get a property appraisal. The Council also suggested <br />checking if the Parks Commission would be interested in this property. <br />M/S/P Graves/Moe - to adjourn the City Council meeting at 10:44 pm. <br />Motion carried_ 5-0). <br />Resoiuton Pdo. 89-33 Ziertman Large Lot Subdivision <br />89-34 Release & Discharge Easement, Lake Rose to W.
