LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES AUGUST 15, 1989 PAGE 5 <br />Fire Chief Fran Pott reported he has talked to Mr. Haase who has agreed to <br />the City burning of 2 buildings (center motel building and building to the <br />west). Pott indicated the buildings cannot be burned to the ground <br />because heat radiation would be too much for the powerlines. The City <br />will have to fence the area and a removal effort is required within ten <br />days. <br />Hunt /Moe - to adopt Resolution 89-37 in accordance with the <br />recormendations of the City Attorney and the City Building Official: An <br />Order to Raze or Repair buildings at Cozy Cove Motel located at 7676 <br />Hudson Blvd. (Motion carried 4-0). <br />8. CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: <br />A. 1989 Law Enforcement Services Contract <br />The City has now received the 1989 Law Enforcement Services Contract from <br />Washington County and a copy of the contract was sent to the City Attorney <br />for his review. <br />M/S/P Williams/Moe - resolved that the council hereby approves the 1989 <br />Law Enforcement Services Contract. (Motion carried 4-0). <br />B. Charitable Gambling Requests <br />(1) License Renewal: Jaycees, Lake Elmo <br />(2) Application for Exemption: <br />Transportation Club of St. Paul-Mpls. <br />Two charitable gambling applications have been received; one is a renewal <br />for the Lake Elmo Jaycees and the second is an Application for Exemption <br />from Charitable Gambling License for the Transportation Club of St. <br />Paul -Minneapolis for an event they have planned for Tartan Park. An <br />exemption is usually asked for when an event is a one-time or once a year <br />event. <br />The Council had no problems with these Charitable Gambling Requests. <br />C. Request for Off -Sale Non -Intoxicating Malt Liquor License: <br />Retail Foods of MN, a Division of Gateway Foods of Mpls, Inc. <br />dba Brooks Food Market <br />The staff reported there has been a change of ownership of the Brooks <br />Superette located on loth Street an Lake Elmo Aveue; therfore, a new <br />license to sell off -sale non -intoxicating malt liquor is required. The <br />staff had not received approval, prior to the Council meeting, from the <br />Washington County Sheriff's Department and County Attorney. <br />M/S/P Hunt/Williams - to grant off -sale non -intoxicating malt liquor <br />license to Retail Foods of MN, a Division of Gateway Foods of Mpls. Inc., <br />dba Brooks Food Market located at 11025 loth St. N., for the remainder of <br />1989; contingent upon a favorable recommendation from the Sheriff's <br />Department and County Attorney. (Motion carried 4-0). <br />D. Report from Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer re: <br />CUP, Trans City Investment <br />
