RESOLUTION NO. 89-15 <br />CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF A BILL WHICH WOULD GIVE <br />MANUFACTURED HOME PARK RESIDENTS <br />THE FIRST RIGHT TO PURCHASE THEIR PARK <br />WHEREAS, manufactured home parks are an important form of <br />affordable housing in our community, <br />WHEREAS, manufactured home park residents are homeowners, who <br />are financially invested in our community, <br />WHEREAS, manufactured home park residents are vulnerable to <br />mass evictions in the event of a park closing, <br />WHEREAS, manufactured home park residents do not have the same <br />opportunity as other homeowners to purchase land, <br />WHEREAS, a bill will be introduced for legislative <br />consideration which requires the park owners to notify residents of <br />the price, terms, and conditions of the sale, which gives residents <br />60 days to purchase the park as a cooperative, and an additional 60 <br />days to secure financing if the residents do purchase the park, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the <br />City of Lake Elmo goes on record in favor of the bill to create a <br />"first right to purchase" for manufactured home park residents. <br />Adopted by the Council. this 7th day of February, 1989. <br />Q- - nunn, Mayor <br />
