LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES JUNE 4, 1991 PAGE 2 <br />Council. (1) Retain Ellen Sampson to monitor the progress and content <br />of a new landfill siting .process that is to be developed and report to <br />the city, (2) Continue to collect referendum monies funding the <br />landfill fight based on the fact that the existing landfill search is <br />still in a state of moratorium and a chance still exists that it could <br />be resumed in a year from now, (3) Requests authorization to negotiate <br />with DPRA and Colle & McVoy in regard to the future use of their <br />services and to make a recommendation to the Council. <br />The City Administrator has tentatively invited. Ellen Sampson to attend <br />the next Council meeting and update the Council on where we are at and <br />what we should watch out for. <br />M/S/P Williams/Mottaz - that the representatives from ReAPP be <br />authorized by the City Council to contact DRPA and Colle & McVoy to <br />decide what their future role should be and to come back to the <br />Council at a future meeting with a recommendation. (Motion carried. <br />5-0). <br />M/S/P Dick Johnson/Williams - to direct the City Administrator to <br />contact DPRA and Colle & McVoy and instruct them for the time being to <br />suspend any activities that would cost the city. (Motion carried <br />5-0). <br />6. Resolution No. 91-17: Supporting Washington County's <br />Adoption of Local Option Sales Tax <br />M/.S/P Williams/Hunt - to adopt Resolution No. 91-17, Supporting <br />Washington County's Adoption of the 1/2% "Local Option" Sales Tax. <br />(Motion carried. 5-0). <br />7. PLANNING/LAND USE & ZONING: <br />A. Rezoning Recommendation from Planning Commission: <br />Clifford Adkins property, Ordinance No. 9045 <br />The City Attorney saw no legal problem to the City in taking action on <br />this. Any land boundary dispute will be resolved by the parties before <br />the land is developed. <br />M/S/P Hunt/Williams - to adopt Ordinance 8045 rezoning the property <br />legally described in said ordinance from Rural Residential (RR) to R1 <br />based upon the recommendation of the Planning Commission, based on the <br />Findings of Fact made part of this motion,. <br />(1) The Lake Elmo City Council initiated this zoning cod.e amendment. <br />(2) The proposed zoning code amendment conforms to the 1990 Comp_ <br />Plan. <br />
