LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES MARCH 16, 1993 <br />j At Mayor Ted Bearth's suggestion, a joint session of the two <br />l councils was tentatively agreed for March 22 at Oakdale City <br />Hall. This would be confirmed following the March 16th Lake <br />Elmo Council meeting. It was the consensus of the Council to <br />support a meeting with the Oakdale City Council on March <br />22nd to discuss common interests. <br />On Saturday March 13 two teams drawn from the Council, <br />Administrative staff and the Planning Commission entered in <br />the Annual Leukemia Bowl-A-Thon sponsored by the City of Oak <br />Park Heights. <br />On Monday March 15, he met with the Metro Regional <br />Supervisor of the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil <br />Resources, Bruce Sandstrom, Board Conservationist Barbara <br />Ohman and Al Dornfeld, Chair of the Valley Branch Watershed <br />District. This was in response to a letter he had written <br />them on his concerns over the authorities and <br />responsibilities of the Watershed districts. With the <br />council's agreement, Mayor John will call an informational <br />meeting for the citizens of Lake Elmo tentatively for April <br />14th to be attended by representatives of the Met Council, <br />PCA, DNR, Board of Water & Soil Resources and the VBWD and <br />the City of Oakdale. <br />On Monday, March 15th he attended the meeting of the State <br />Committee on Local Government and Metropolitan Affairs <br />investigating the status of the Metropolitan Council held at <br />the Washington County Commission's offices in Stillwater. <br />Council member Conlin reported she attended a cable <br />commission meeting on March 11th held at the Birchwood City <br />Hall. In the future there will be funds available for <br />possible cable casting of our Planning Commission and Parks <br />Commission meetings. <br />10. CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: <br />A. League Conference <br />Administrator Kueffner asked that the Council notify her if <br />they plan on attending the June 8-11th League Conference in <br />St. Cloud. <br />B. Resignation of Parks Commission Member <br />The City has received a letter of resignation from Gary Lee <br />from the Parks Commission. <br />M/S/P Conlin/Johnson - to accept Gary Lee's resignation and <br />appoint Steve Peterson (first alternate) to serve out his <br />term. The second alternate, Kevin Heichel should be moved <br />up to first alternate and solicit applications for the <br />second alternate vacancy in the City's newsletter. (Motion <br />carried 3-0). <br />
