LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES SEPTEMBER 21, 1993 <br />C. Planning Commission Appointments <br />Mara Metraus, 10550 50th St. N., asked that her name be withdrawn because of other <br />commitments. <br />M/S/C Johnston/Mottaz - to appoint Robert Helwig, 8247 27th St. N., as Second <br />Alternate on the Lake Elmo Planning Commission. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />D. Maintenance Advisory Committee Appointments <br />The City did not receive any letters of interest to serve on this committee. <br />M/S/C Johnston/Mottaz - to readvertize vacancies on the Maintenance Advisory <br />Committee in the City Newsletter. (Motion carried 5-0) <br />E. Heritage Preservation Committee Appointments <br />M/S/C Johnson/ Conlin - to table until the availability of Dorothy Sherburne to serve on <br />the HPC can be confirmed. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />F. Recommendation to County Board for VBWD Appointment. <br />M/S/C Mottaz/John - to direct the staff to send a letter to the Washington County Board <br />in support of J. Peter Zeterberg's appointment to the VBWD and to make an effort to <br />get another resident of Lake Elmo to apply to serve on the VBWD Board. (Motion <br />carried 5-0). <br />G. Recommendation from Parks Commission on Equestrian/Pedestrian Trail <br />M/S/C Mottaz/Conlin - to send a copy of the September 20, 1993 Parks Commission <br />minutes recommending to take no action on improving the equestrian/pedestrian at this <br />time to Tom Soderberg, Genie Arabians. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />H. Update on Trail Task Force <br />Steve DeLapp provided a report of the Lake Elmo Trail Team with recommendations on <br />the location of 24 segments selected for a city trail system and proposed designs for <br />each segment. The system has a total length of 48 miles which includes routes on <br />State, County and City streets and independent routes. DeLapp thanked the council for <br />their support and urged a thorough review of this work. <br />
