The two areas of the plan which could begun now are portions of the surface water
resource data inventory and identification of problem areas. Specifically, Task E.3.e) and f)
which is the mapping of existing pipes, culverts, stonmwater ponds, outlet control structures, and
the tabulation of flood levels and discharges from these structures, could be completed now.
This 'mapping would also benefit the Maintenance Department in their work of locating and
maintaining these existing structures. The second task that could be completed now is Task 0
which is the identification of problem areas. The estimated cost to analyze the problem areas is
directly dependent on the number of problem areas to be studied,
The estimated cost for the stonnwater system inventory and mapphng is $13,600,00 and is
recommended to be Phase 1 of the local surface water management platunhng, Also included in
Phase 1 is the identification of existing problem areas that warrant study. This will involve some
workshops with the Council and/orpublic meeti, ogs. Once the areas to be studied are Identified,
a cost estimate can be prepared. The actual study of these areas would be considered Phase 2.
The estimated cost to identify those problem areas which warrant further study is $1,400.00,
The total estimated cost for Phase 1 work is $15,000.00,
Sincerely,
X—? /jo s/
Larry 1), Bohrer, P.E.
LDB/mha
