Lake Elmo City Council Meeting Minutes March 18, 1997 page 2 <br />M/S/P Dunn/Conlin - to adopt Resolution Number 97-8 - (A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING <br />THE CONCEPT THAT THE CITY OF LAKE ELMO NOT BE FURTHER DIVIDED BY <br />CHANGES IN BOUNDARIES OF SCHOOL ATTENDANCE AREAS AND REQUESTING <br />PROTECTION FROM FUTURE DIVISION OF THE COMMUNITY BY SUCH CHANGES), <br />and, direct staff to send the School Board a "strong" letter of support for the committee, which <br />will include Mayor John's memo (attached). <br />(Motion Passed 4-0). <br />5. CONSENT AGENDA: None <br />6. CITY ENGINEER'S REPORT <br />A. No Parking Resolution: 30th Street North <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Conlin - to adopt Resolution Number 97-9 (A RESOLUTION RELATING TO <br />PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON S.A.P. 206-208-01 (30TH STREET NORTH) FROM <br />C.S.A.H. 17 (LAKE ELMO AVENUE) TO C.S.A.H.15 (MANNING AVENUE) IN THE CITY <br />OF LAKE ELMO, MINNESOTA. <br />(Motion Passed 3-1, opposed: Dunn: Opposed to state aid mandates that dictate to the city <br />requiring specific types of roads that may not blend in area ). <br />Councilor DeLapp asked that if meeting were called regarding trucks on 30th Street, the affected <br />residents be invited to participate. <br />B. Update on 30th Street <br />City Planner Pung-Terwedo reviewed the Parks Commission recommendation regarding the trail <br />along 30th Street, which they propose to go to Legion Avenue, then North through Reid Park <br />and end at 31 st Street and delete the sidewalk from Lake Elmo Avenue be deleted from the plan, <br />provided it is feasible and recommended by the City Engineer. <br />City Council directed City Engineer to study the feasibility of a path from Legion through Reid <br />Park to 31st Street. <br />Todd Williams <br />3025 Lake Elmo Avenue <br />Mr. Williams stated that 75% of residents who live along 30th Street had signed the petition, <br />which was presented to the Parks Commission at their regular meeting Monday, March 17, <br />1997. <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Dunn - to approve deletion of the sidewalk along 30th Street to Lake Elmo <br />Avenue. <br />(Motion Passed 4-0). <br />City Administrator Kueffner asked if more people in the City should be notified of this change, <br />not just 30th Street residents. <br />
