7. PARKS/MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT/FIRE DEPARTMENT: <br />A. Recommendation from MAC: Mower and trailer for Parks Department <br />At its June I& meeting, the Parks Commission made the following recommendations: <br />1. Recommend the purchase of a used JD 955 hydrostatic utility tractor mower at a cost of <br />$24,000 less trade in and this purchase be made now and the funds taken from the Parks CEP <br />fund. <br />2. Recommend the purchase of a new cab and broom for the JD utility tractor for a cost of <br />$7,250 and this purchase not be made until the equipment is needed —late summer or early <br />fall. <br />Bill Wacker, Chairman, reported the following motions were made by MAC: <br />1. Approve purchase of the used John Deer #955 only at a cost of $24,000 less the trade in of <br />$11,750 for a total cost of $12,250. <br />2. Recommend including with the CEP request a letter outlining the plans to purchase additional <br />items including the Cab and Broom at a later date prior to winter. <br />3. Because of safety reasons and the unnecessary road travel of the John Deer #955, approve the <br />purchase of trailer for its hauling at a cost of approximately $5,000. <br />M/S/P Conlin/DeLapp — to purchase a used JD 955 hydrostatic utility tractor mower at a cost of $24,000 <br />minus the trade in of $11,750 with a total cost of $12,250 and purchase a trailer at a cost of $4,000 and <br />purchase a cab and broom for the JD utility tractor at a later date this Fall at a cost of $7,250 based on the <br />recommendation for approval by MAC and the Parks Commission. (Motion passed 4-0). <br />Stonegate Park <br />At its June 16°i meeting, the Parks Commission recommended that the Council direct the City Engineer to <br />prepare a grading plan for Stonegate Park. There is $2,000 in the Parks CIP for this plan, but was not <br />proposed to be done until next year. <br />Councilor DeLapp voiced his concern with not having a master plan for the entire 20 acres and suggested <br />obtaining a 2' grade contour map and do some landscape planning. <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Dunn — to direct the City Engineer to work with the staff to develop a concept plan for a 20 <br />acre Stonegate Park and devise a grading plan for the 5 acres in Stonegate Park for limited recreation use <br />by the neighborhood to be done this year. (Motion passed 3-1:Conlin:The Parks Commission only <br />requested some grading to make a ballfield this year on the 5 acres. There is no cap on the amount of <br />money to be spent on developing a concept plan for a 20 acre park which at this time the City only owns 5 <br />acres. ) <br />8. PLANNING, LAND USE & ZONING: <br />A. Moving Building into City: Keith Hagberg <br />Keith Hagberg is proposing to move a 24' x 24' garage presently located at 3686 Layton Avenue to 10807 <br />32"d Street N. All setback requirements for the garage can be met, and there is an existing driveway on the <br />property. The Washington County Deputies and Public Works have been notified of the project. The <br />Planning Commission recommended approval at its June 91i meeting. <br />M/S/P Dunn/Cordin — to approve Case No. BW97-30 approving a building moving permit to move a 24' x <br />24' garage from 3686 Layton Avenue to 10807 32"d Street North requested by Keith Hagberg based on the <br />two conditions of approval and staff and Planning Commission's recommendation.
