accelerated depreciation. MAC would like to move ahead with a program for funding future CIP and set a <br />timeline. They request an update on costs for a maintenance facility plan to include a parks dept. and costs <br />for remodeling the old maintenance building for the Fire Department's use, MAC recognized there might <br />be a Station 3 so the City should search for land and get land acquisition costs and also look at a <br />replacement for Station 1. The MAC will meet on June 29 h to go over the interim work and then request a <br />workshop on June 30th with Council, Fire Dept., Maintenance Dept, MAC, and Facilities Commission to <br />put together a timeline for these events to occur. Mayor John and Councilor DeLapp felt the expansion of <br />City Hall should be top priority and added into this cost estimate. Councilor DeLapp had provided <br />previously a sketch for an expanded City Hall that should be reviewed. <br />M/S/P Hunt/Johnston — to direct the City Engineer to prepare an updated, and new estimates for a new <br />expanded maintenance garage, based on the previous design, that would include the Parks Dept, within it, a <br />cost estimate for remodeled fire station 2, and for an expanded City Hall and call a workshop on June 30, 7 <br />p.m. with Council, Fire Dept., Maintenance Dept., Parks Dept, Facilities Commission to discuss the <br />planning process for putting together a 20 or 30 year CIP for facilities. (Motion passed 4-0). <br />M/S/P Hunt/DeLapp - to authorize the City Engineer to update costs at a project cost not to exceed $1,200. <br />(Motion passed 4-0). <br />Councilor Hunt asked the Administrator to assign a staff person that the professionals can pass information <br />through this person. <br />S. PLANNING. LAND USE AND ZONING: <br />A. Lake DeMontreville Water Access Rehabilitation <br />The City received a letter from the Mn/DNR describing improvements proposed for the Lake <br />DeMontreville Public Access. The Tri-Lakes Association has reviewed the concept plan and expressed that <br />the parking lot size not be increased. City Engineer, Tom Prow, indicated a grading permit would be <br />appropriate and would review the permit. Also, they should contact the VBWD to see if a permit is <br />required. <br />M/S/P Hunt/DeLapp — to direct the staff to write a letter to the DNR informing them of the requirement for <br />a grading permit necessary from the City for the proposed Lake DeMontreville Public Access project. <br />(Motion passed 4-0). <br />B. Amendment to Development Agreement for Parkview Estates <br />C. Resolution amending resolution approving the final plat of Parkview Estates <br />Attorney Filla reported often times the Land Trust changes their mind on which kinds of Open Space Lots <br />they want after we have already approved the resolution and the developer's agreement. <br />M/S/P Hunt/Johnston — to approve Resolution No. 98-36, amending Resolution No. 98-11 the Final Plat of <br />Parkview Estates, as amended (Permanent Conservation Easements on Outlots A, B, C, D and E shall be <br />conveyed by conservation easement to the City and to a qualified Land Trust, where accepted, on forms <br />approved by the City Attorney) and approve the amendment to the Developers' Agreement for Parkview <br />Estates. (Motion passed 4-0). <br />D. Letter from City of Farmington regarding MUSA expansions in non -municipal communities <br />The City received a letter from John Erar, City Administrator for the City of Farmington regarding MUSA <br />expansions in non -recognized communities. The Council asked for the full text of the document in order to <br />respond.
