The Employer will provide, as part of the group insurance plan, <br />basic life insurance coverage equal to the annual salary of the <br />employee, up to $50,000 of annual salary and basic long-term <br />disability insurance. Additional units of insurance may be <br />purchased by the employee as permitted by the Insurance Carrier. <br />Effective January 1, 201-6'8, the Employer will increase by <br />fiv,Jfifty dollars ($4,550.00) per month, its maximum contribution <br />to the cost of group insurance. The City will contribute up to a <br />maximum of ° - one thousand thirty-five ($-9-1,035) per <br />month per employee for group health, dental, life, short-term and <br />long-term disability insurance. <br />Effective January 1, 2019, the Employer will increase by fifty <br />dollars ($50.00) per month, its maximum contribution to the cost <br />of group insurance. The City will contribute up to a maximum of <br />one thousand eighty-five dollars ($ 1,08S) per <br />month per employee for group health, dental, life, short-term and <br />long-term disability insurance. <br />410. <br />Effective January 1, 2020, the Employer will increase by fifty <br />dollars ($50.00) per month, its maximum contribution to the cost <br />of group insurance. The City will contribute up to a maximum of <br />one thousand one hundred thirty-five dollars ($1,135) per month <br />per employee for group health, dental, life, short-term and long- <br />term disability insurance. <br />Should the employee's insurance selections total less than the <br />Employer's maximum contribution, the employee may contribute the <br />unused compensation in a deferred compensation plan, health <br />savings accounts, or health care savings plan. <br />Ala 41.4 oft <br />A <br />The Employer and the Union mutually agree to re -open this <br />contract annually in the years 2018-2019 to negotiate health <br />insurance costs/contributions for the years of 2019-2020. The <br />re - <br />opener is exclusive to Article 15. Should the parties fail to <br />reach an agreement on the terms of Article 15 though good -faith <br />negotiations, the parties mutually agree to refer the issue to <br />interest based arbitration. <br />The Employer and the Union further agree to engage in labor- <br />management discussions and planning with regard to future <br />citywide health insurance offerings. <br />In the event health insurance provisions of this agreement fail <br />to meet the requirements of the Affordable Care Act and its <br />16 <br />
