RESIDENTS REQUESTS AND COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR <br />There were no requests or comments from the floor. <br />10. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />A. Call to Order for Annual Council Business Meeting <br />1. Setting meeting dates for City Council Meetings and Work Sessions <br />for 2000 - Givonna Reed <br />Assistant to the City Administrator. Reed stated Resolution 5400 lists the dates of the Council <br />Meetings and Work Sessions for the next twelve months, accounting for holidays by pushing <br />those meeting dates forward. She indicated these dates could be changed, if .the Council so <br />desires. <br />Mayor Coughlin suggested that, in light of past experience, the Council may wish to eliminate <br />the December 27, 2000 City Council Meeting at this time, as they will likely be calling to order <br />for the Truth in Taxation meeting. <br />City Administrator Whiting advised that the Council has until the end of December to approve <br />the budget, and the Truth in Taxation meetings will be scheduled regardless. He explained that <br />they could not be certain at this time that the second required meeting in December would take <br />place, therefore, the Council may. wish to set the December 27, 2000 meeting date as presented, <br />and cancel it at a later date, if necessary. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Quick. To Approve Resolution No. 5400, a Resolution Setting <br />2000 Meeting Dates for City Council Meetings and Work Sessions, as Presented. <br />Ayes - 4 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />2. Appointing City Council Members and Clerk Administrator as <br />Representatives for City Commissions and other Organizations - <br />Givonna Reed <br />Assistant to the City Administrator Reed stated Resolution 5394 is exactly the same as the <br />resolution approved the previous year. She advised that if the Council desires to make any <br />amendments to the resolution, they should be brought forward at this time. <br />Mayor Coughlin stated Council Member Marty had indicated he would be interested in <br />appointment to the Golf Course and Cable Television Committees. He added that, with the <br />permission of Council Member Thomason, he would be interested in acting as liaison to the <br />• Economic Development Commission. <br />
