He reported he • <br />would bring further information to the Council once it is available. <br />Council Member Stigney questioned why the Charter was considering this change and requested <br />further information from Staff. <br />Council Member Hull agreed and asked what the motive behind the changes is. <br />Council Member Mueller stated feasibility reports were quite expensive and she felt there were <br />many other areas of the Charter that could be amended or reworked. She did not see the need for <br />a change to the proposed section and suggested Staff forward a memorandum to the Charter <br />Commission. <br />Council Member Gunn agreed with these comments and felt Staff's memo should be sent to the <br />Charter Commission. She questioned how future projects would proceed without numerous <br />petitions and complaints. <br />Mayor Flaherty suggested a memorandum from Staff be delayed and instead a meeting be <br />scheduled between the Council and the Charter Commission to gain insight on the motives and <br />discuss the proposed amendments. <br />City Administrator Ericson indicated Coventry Seniar Housing presented a proposed plan to the • <br />Planning Commission. The major concern at this time was traffic through the adjacent <br />neighborhood. The developer would like to come before the City Council at the next Work <br />Session meeting to gather feedback before submitting an official plan. <br />City Administrator Ericson noted the City has budgeted for him to attend three training <br />conferences in 2010. Funds were set aside in the 2010 budget for each event. He questioned if <br />the Council was still in favor of him attending all of these events. <br />Council Member Hull suggested the Clerk certiiication training be attended and the other two <br />eliminated from the budget. <br />Council Member Mueller was in favor of City Administrator Ericson attending a11 three events. <br />Council Member Stigney suggested two out of the three events be attended and that City <br />Administrator Ericson select the two that would be most valuable. <br />Council Member Gunn agreed with Council Member Stigney and noted the MCFOA conference <br />must be attended. <br />Mayor Flaherty felt the MCFOA conference was crucial and suggested that one of the other two <br />events be selected.
