Resolution 7073, Approving Hiring William Hanggi as a Part-time Seasonal
Employee and Setting a Wage for Returning Seasonal Employees in Public
Works
Public Works Director Lee addressed Council and explained that the 2007 Seasonal Public
Works Positions were approved with one issue being advertising for part time seasonal workers
and the second issue being the wage for returning part time seasonal workers.
Director Lee pointed out that this is a part time position and Mr. Hanggi would wark, on average,
three days per week and the position would terminate in six months. The position has no benefits
and the wage recommendation is $12.50 per hour.
Director Lee noted that Staff had provided information on returning seasonal workers from other
cities. He then said that 37 applications were received for the 10 positions available and,
historically, there have been only 11 applications for 10 positions. He then recommended
approval of $11.50 for returning seasonal workers.
Council Member Mueller said she would like to separate the two things out rather than doing
them at the same time.
MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Flaheriy. He then said that
Mounds View is ahead of the game with what other cities are paying. He further said that this is
up to 10 and he would like Mr. Hangii to be considered one of the 10 not an addition to the 10.
Ayes - 4 Nays - 0 Motion carried.
MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Flaheriy.
