Mounds View City Council May 14, 2007
Regular Meeting Page 2
Mr. Hebert said that the lot was smoothed out and some seed planted but, when it rains, there is ~
an issue. He then showed pictures after a rain to Council.
Mayor Marty asked Staff what recourse Mr. Hebert would have.
Community Development Director Ericson explained that the owners of the property were sent
the same letter as Mr. Hebert. He then said that it is clear that the problem resulted with a broken
water main and that is an issue of park maintenance. Staff agreed to contact the property owner
regarding the issues.
Housing Inspector Anderson indicated that he would work with all parties to ensure that things
move along. He then explained that some of these issues are civil disputes between the park
owners and Mr. Hebert.
Mayor Marty asked Staff to set up a meeting with the parties to work on a resolution of the
issues.
Brad Busch addressed Council and provided information on setting up a group to look into
providing a clinic closer to the City. He then said that he would like the City of Mounds View to
have a small ciinic sometime soon especially since there are empty buildings in the area.
Mayor Marty indicated that it has been the goal of Council, for a number of years, to bring a
medical clinic to the City. •
Mike Courtney of 5440 Jackson Drive asked for his yard sale stuff back.
Community Deveiopment Director Ericson explained that the materials were put into storage and
a letter was sent out with all the information.
Mr. Courtney said that he got the place cleaned up and he decided to have a yard sale and then
the stuff was taken and that is ridiculous.
Mayor Marty indicated that Mr. Courtney was sited and given 10 days to clean up the yard. One
month later the stuff was hauled away. It may not have been the same items but the stuff that
was removed was replaced with other stuff and that was removed by the Ciiy.
Mayor Marty explained that ordinances are cited to be followed and Mr. Courtney was given
ample time to clean his yard because the City did not step in until 30 days after the notice was
given to clean the yard.
Council Member Mueller said that when someone has a yard sale, and the yard sale day is done,
the items of value are put away and are not left out in the yard overnight and these items were left
out on the yard for many days.
•
