26 <br />The commission shall consist of -embers as ,rovided for in Ordinance 61, <br />and be governed by said Ordinance. <br />RULE 18. It shall be the duty of each of the committees to act promptly and <br />faithfully in all matters referred to them,and to make their reports at the next <br />meeting of the Council. <br />RULE 19. Every Ordinance and Resolution shall be presented to the members <br />of the Council at least one day prior to the Council meeting. They shall be <br />read at the Council meeting and action taken thereon. <br />RULE 20. After an Ordinance or Resolutio. shall have passed, a complete and <br />accurate copy as amended, if need be, shall be made by the Clerk and shall be <br />signed by the Mayor or in his absence by the acting Mayor, and deposited with the <br />Clerk, who shall attest, seal, number, file and record the same permanently in the <br />Ordinance or Resolution book. Entry of the complete Ordinance or Resolution as <br />amended directly into the Ordinance or Resolution book and Original signatures <br />and seal thereon shall be compliance with this section. The affidavit of publication <br />shall be permanently inserted in the Ordinance book after each Ordinance. <br />RULE 21. Petitions and other papers addressed to the Council shall be read by <br />the Clerk upon presentation of the same to the Council. <br />RULE 22. All sessions of the Council shall be public. <br />RULE 23. The Chief of Police shall attend meetings of the Council when <br />requested to do so by the Mayor and preserve order in the room. <br />RULE 24. These rules, or any of them, may be suspended by consent of a majority <br />of all Councilmen, and shall not be repealed, altered* or amended, unless by <br />concurrence of a majority of the whole Council, and upon notice given at some <br />preceding meeting. <br />RULE 25. In all points not covered by these rules the Council shall be <br />governed in its procedure by Robert's Rules of Order Revised. <br />RULE 26. The foregoing rules are adopted to facilitate the tr'nsaction of <br />Council business and functions. They should not be permitted tc defeat or hinder <br />
