too <br />New Year's Day <br />Good Friday <br />Labor Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Lincoln's Birthday <br />Memorial Day <br />-2- <br />ARTICLE III <br />Severance Pay <br />Section 1. All permanent employees who have completed five (5) years <br />of service with the Village shall be entitled to 409E of the unused sick <br />leave as severance pay upon retirement or if they become disabled so <br />they must terminate their employment. <br />ARTICLE IV <br />Holidays <br />Section 1. All employees shall be granted leave of absence with regular <br />pay on all legal holidays. These are: <br />Christmas Day <br />Washington's Birthday <br />Independence Day <br />Veteran's Day <br />Columbus Day <br />Section 2. New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Christmas <br />Day will be considered "major" holidays. When any such major holiday <br />falls upon a Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a holiday <br />for all employees. When a major holiday falls upon a Saturday, either <br />Friday or Monday will be considered a holiday for all employees. The <br />minor holidays are allowed only if they fall on a regular working day. <br />Section 3. At the discretion of the Superintendent, one -half the crew <br />shall have Lincoln's Birthday off, and the remainder to take Washington's <br />Birthday off. <br />ARTICLE V <br />Vacations <br />Section 1. Permanent employees shall be granted the following vacation <br />schedule: <br />1 5 years' service 2 weeks <br />After 5 years' service 3 weeks <br />After 20 years' service 4 weeks <br />Section 2. Employees with two weeks' vacation due must take at least <br />one week of said vacation days consecutively. <br />Employees with three or four week's vacation due must take <br />at least two weeks of said vacation days consecutively. <br />Section 3. Employees with less than one year's service shall have their <br />vacation prorated at 5/6's day per month. <br />Section 4. Vacations must be scheduled by March 1st each year. <br />Section 5. An employee may holdover ten (10) days maximum into the next <br />year. <br />ARTICLE VI <br />Hours <br />Section 1. The regular work day for employees shall be eight (8) hours. <br />Section 2. The regular work week for employees shall be forty (40) <br />hours, and shall be five (5) co. °3ecutive days excluding Sunday. <br />
