Minutes of the Meeting of October 10, 1960 (Page 41_ <br />The subject of the cleaning of the streets by Sandstron and <br />Haffner Construction Company was brought to the attention of <br />the council by Trustee Malvin who recomracedod witholding monies <br />owing tho said company until such tiOe they do a better job <br />of cleaning the village streets on which water laterals were <br />installed by that company. Mr. `falter Skiba stated that he <br />had talked to Mr. Holm, a representative of said company, about <br />this and there compay was aware of t' is problem. Trustee Chris. <br />tensen suggested that the village invite Mr. Frank Slipka from <br />the County into the village to show tho firm of Sandstrom and <br />Haffner how to bettor du the job of cleaning such streets. Iir. <br />Christensen stated tkat the would contact Mr. Slipka concerning <br />this. <br />G.;iz)98 <br />Mr. Walter Skiba, Plumbing Inspector, stated that he received <br />a request from the Don Leon Construction Company ma concerning <br />the double bungelows being constructed by Babinski. The village <br />Attorney then recommended that all requests for permits and so <br />forth be held up until the Village receives an answer concerning <br />the changes on their plans. Motion by Christensen seconded by <br />Hodges that the building Inspector and other inspectors "Red <br />Tag" the buildings being constructed on Sunnyside Road sad between <br />County Road H and Woodcrest which is now under construction under <br />permits issued by the village for double bungelows, and that <br />the "Red Tags" show that the tag was issued pursuant to council <br />action that future building shall not be permited until such <br />time as the builders conform with the council's previous requests <br />for plans and convenants for this land. 4 ayes, motion carried. <br />Upon call of business from the floow Mr. Al Hillsdale questioned <br />the assessment levied on the part of his lot which is under water <br />at Spring Lake. He stated that this same problem confronts other <br />residents with lots on Spring Lake also. Motion was then made <br />by Crane seconded by Hodges to check the lot areas at Spring <br />Lake and reduce the assessment accordingly. 4 ayes, motion carried. <br />The owner of lot 1, Block 10, Pinewood Terrace #4, questioned <br />the assessment on his lot which is located on the curve on Belle <br />Lane. Mr. Knutson stated that he was aware of this problem <br />and suggested that the council approve reduction of his assessment <br />to conform with that of the lot across the street. Motion was <br />then made by Crane seconded by Christensen to adjust the assessment <br />on the aforemention Lot to conform with the lot assessment across <br />the street from the lot in questions 4 ayes, motion carried. <br />Mrs Christensen stated that a request had been received from <br />the School District that the village paint the crosswalks at <br />the school corners to allow greater safety for children crossing <br />the streets. Said crosswalks located at Sunnyside Road crossing <br />$herewood Road and all four corners of Red Oak Drive -nd Sherewood <br />Road. Motion by Christensen seconded by Malvin that the village <br />instruct the County Engineer to paid t!ese crosswalks and sueh <br />other County roads as would be necessary at School zones. 4 aYes. <br />motion carried. <br />
