-2- <br />00003 <br />liinutes of January 23, 1961 Council l acting <br />The Representative from Layne- I;innesota stated that since this <br />was an emergency measure, the Council should consider the time <br />element (4 days) in awarding the contract. <br />The Representative from Fairbanks- iiorae stated that their bid <br />showed the maximum time andthat they could possibly pare their time. <br />notion by Hodges to accept the low bid by Fairbanks- iiorse in the <br />amount of C;17,975.00. Seconded by lialvin. 5 Ayes for approval. <br />notion carried. <br />Iiayor Crane read the report of the Pollco Commission. <br />notion by Crane to accept the daily contract as presented by <br />B 3 Patrol. Seconded by Hodges. The contract mes read in part for <br />those citizens present at the meeting. In the discussion that fellowed <br />it was brought out that the B );'Patrol was the only firm that <br />answered the ad for a Dog Catcher. After further discussion a roll <br />call vote etas taken. 5 Ayes for approval. notion carried. <br />Iiotion by Christensen that the Village concur with the Police <br />Commission recommendation and that the Attorney he instructed to <br />prepare an ammendment to the Dog Ordinance to raise license fees for <br />unspayed female dogs to ;;25.00. Seconded by lialvin. After some dis- <br />cussion from the floor the roll was called. 5 Ayes for approval. <br />Lotion carried. <br />notion by Blanchard that the Council grant permission to the <br />Police Commission to send letters to four local service stations <br />Raking for bids for police car service for one year. Seconded by <br />Hodges. 5 Ayes for approval. Iiotion carried. <br />Iiotion by Crane that the Village pay dues to the Iiinnesota Police <br />and Peace Officers Assn. at one dollar (::1.00) per year per man. <br />Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes for approval. notion carried. <br />Iiotion by Hodges that the Village re- imburse any Officer who <br />loses time and•pay from his regular job to appear in court in behalf <br />of the Village. Seconded by 3lanchard. 5 Ayes for approval. notion <br />carried. <br />notion by Crane that the Villas° instruct Northam n States Power <br />Company to install a street li „ht at the corner of Quincy and Hi]lview. <br />Seconded b Christensen. It was brought out in discussion that <br />Northern States Power Company was conducting a street lighting study <br />in the Village and that the Village should malt until that is complet- <br />ed before having work done. Roll call vote: Hodges, naivin, 31anchard, <br />Nay; Christensen, Crane, Aye. notion defeated. <br />Trustee Christensen gave a report on taeilor th S _bnrban Sanitary <br />District and explained what has been done to date and what legis- <br />lative actions a:o contemplated by the Organization. He also re- <br />ported on the Legislative Council necting of the League of iiinnesota <br />i:unicipalities. <br />
