2 000061 Minutes of May 22nd, 1961 Council Meeting The next order of business concerned the acceptance of bids. The alternates to the Building Plan were discussed very thoroughly by the Engineer and members of the Council and the following action was taken: Motion by Christensen to accept the low bid for the Water Utility building by Dedolph Construction in the lump sum amount of $72,524.00 leas alternate #3 for 36,500.00 making the final bid price of $66,025. Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes. The two low bids on the Water Filteration Equipment were read again and after some discussion the Engineer requested additional time to examine the corrected plans presented by the low bidder. Attorney Meyers reported that he had made a rough draft of the proposed guarantee from the low bidder but had received no word from the General Contractor as yet. The Council concurred with the Engineer and deferred awarding of contract Until the next regular meeting. The Planning Committee forwarded information regarding a home to be mired onto the North j of lot seven] block one Greenfield Addition. Twe petitions in favor o>' this move were with the request. Motion by Crane to accept these petitions and to set a public hearing on this matter for June 12th, 1961 at 8 :00 P.M. Seconded by MaiVi l 5 Ayes. The Clerk was instructed to mail said Notices to affected property owners at least 10 days prior to this hearing. The matter of surtacing Gloria Circle was deferred until the next regular meeting. Vacations for part time Village employees (Police and Clerical) was discussed and referred to the Attorney. the Mayor repotted that the dircle of Safety" program is to be held Wednesday} May 24th and Thukeciay} May 25th at Col Rd. I and Quincy St. anki drged all citizens to take Pakt4 The letter frbit Mr. Wally Groberg was tabled for further study. Mr. MaiVin presented a financial statment for 1960 'roan the Lakeside Park Commission. Statement on file at Village office. Motion by Crane to appoint Mrs. Bernice Ehlers of 6939 Pleasant View Dr., as Mounds View Deputy Assessor. Seconded by Christensen. 5 Ayes for approval. The Engineer was instructed to write a letter to have the County repair and clean up the Judicial ditch. The problem of rats in the ditch was broughtto the Council's attention by Mr. Hodges. A letter regarding the Annual meeting of the Minnesota League of Municipalities was read. Motion by Blanchard that the Village send 5 delegates to the convention and pay their registration fee also to pay half of the Village Attorney's registration fee. Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes.
