-2 <br />Mr. J. Dolphy, operator of Mounds View D X on Highway 10 <br />appeared regarding juck vehicles at his place of business. At the <br />request of the Council Mr, Dolphy agreed to remove these vehicles C00091 <br />and fence in his rear yard. <br />The matter of a billboard on Highway 8 and Hillview Road <br />was referred to the Building Inspector. <br />A request for appropriate speed and thru stop signs at <br />Irondale and Woodcrest Drive was referred to Mr. Skiba for installation. <br />The Mayor reported that the peat fire was still burning in <br />some spots, but the 4,000,000 gallons of Village water dumped onto <br />the worst area seems to have done the job in that area. A meeting <br />between the Mayor and the Fire Chief regarding the remaining fire will <br />be held within the next few days. <br />The minutes of the Police Commission Meeting of August 20, 1964 <br />were read and filed. <br />Motion by Rustad to concur with the Police Commissions <br />recommendation and place the Police Department under a Civil Service <br />system. Further to adopt the Civil Service Ordinance 117. <br />Seconded by Blanchard. 5 Ayes. <br />Motion by Rustad to concur with the Police Commissions <br />recommendation and advertise for bids for a new Police car. (Specs <br />approved and on file at office.) Bids will close October 12, 1964 at <br />8:00 P.M. Seconded by La Vaque. 5 Ayes. <br />The B and E Report for July was read and filed. <br />Motion by Blanchard to allow N.S.P. Gas Company to <br />open cut Hillview Road for the installation of gas service to the <br />North side of the street. Seconded by Schott. 5 Ayes. <br />The Clerks Office was instructed to send letters to both <br />Minneapolis and St. Paul Bell Telephone Company Offices stating that <br />when open cuts are made in Village Streets for any reason the street <br />must be repaired immediately and before this crew leaves the Village <br />they must check with the Supt. of Public Works so that he will be <br />able to determine if work is satisfactory and properly assess blame <br />if it is not. <br />The Mayor reopened the Public Hearing recessed on Hillview <br />Quincy Project at 9:00 P.M. <br />After considerable discussion the Mayor asked for objectors to <br />the improvement and there were none. <br />Motion by Blanchard to order the improvement. <br />Seconded by Hodce;. 5 Ayes. <br />Motion by Blanchard to order final plans and specs from the <br />Engineer for this project. Seconded by La Vaque. 5 Ayes. <br />Mr. Bobendrier represented the owners of the Trailer Park and <br />Mr. Babinski and Mr. Julkowski of the Moon Corporation were present <br />at this meeting. <br />The Mayor declared the hearing closed. Mr. Bobendrier then <br />stated that he does object to the proposal if the proposed trailer park <br />will be assessed for it. <br />
