Rowley seconded the motion. <br />5 ayes <br />The motion carried. 0 nays <br />Nelson explained that the City had <br />received two (2) Bids pursuant to the <br />Standards established by the City Council <br />for Bid Openings on March 7th at 9:30 AM. <br />The two (2) bids were Allied Blacktop Co. <br />and Northern Asphalt. Both had Bid Bonds <br />and the Bid amounts respectively were <br />$26,794.07 for Allied Blacktop Company <br />and $35,995.95 from Northern Asphalt. <br />Nelson explained to the City Council that <br />both bids were significantly higher than <br />was allocated in the 1980 Revenue Sharing <br />Program. He noted that the City could <br />defer their decision until until the 24th <br />of March in order to receive additional <br />input from the City Staff at their 17th <br />Meeting. Council concurred with that <br />and requested the Public Works Superindent <br />provide him information by the 17th of <br />March. No decision was made on the <br />Award of Bids on Sealcoating. <br />The Public Works Superintendent had <br />asked Nelson to bring up to City Council <br />the Weight Restriction Requirements. The <br />Council expressed that they generally <br />want to follow the procedures that were <br />used in 1979. Forslund moved to restrict <br />the vehicle traffic by weight in the City <br />on municipal streets between March 15th <br />and May 15th of 1980. Vehicles that are <br />allowed to exceed the weight restriction <br />are School Buses, Garbage Trucks, Emer- <br />gency Vehicles, Fuel Trucks, and Municipal <br />Equipment. LEAA GRANT <br />had received a Request for Joint Powers <br />between a number of Ramsey County Suburbs <br />to provide an opportunity to increase funds <br />available to the suburbs concerning the <br />LEAA Grants. He would go into more detail <br />concerning this on the 17th. <br />
