MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL May 11, 1981 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br />Administrator Pauley stated that it was because <br />the renewals had not gone out on time. <br />Parks /Recreation and Forestry Direction Anderson <br />discussed in length Item F of the Consent Agenda. <br />He stated that up until four months ago Lakeside <br />Commission had managed the beach, but that the <br />management and administration of activities would <br />be taken over by the City of Mounds View and that <br />the day to day maintenance of the site would be <br />done by the City of Spring Lake Park. <br />George Gustafson, 8391 Spring Lake Road, asked who <br />holds the title for the property. Mayor <br />Duane McCarty stated that the title was held by <br />Playground, Inc. Discussion in length took <br />place regarding the park. <br />MOTION: Councilmember Forslund made a motion, <br />seconded by Councilmember Doty to approve Item F <br />of the Consent Agenda and to waive the reading <br />of the Resolution. <br />5 ayes <br />0 nays MOTION CARRIED. <br />George Gustafson, 8391 Spring Lake Road, asked 8. <br />if the Council would bring them up to date of <br />what has transpired at previous public hearings. <br />Mayor McCarty discussed the previous hearings. <br />Attorney Meyers stated that the Ordinance in <br />question restricts the parking of over one ton <br />trucks on private property in residential <br />districts. He discussed the proposed changes. <br />George Gustafson, 8391 Spring Lake Road, asked <br />if unrestricted parking 15 feet off the streets <br />was going to be allowed. He stated that he feels <br />that it would be a big mistake. He stated that <br />it would be bad for appearances in the Village. <br />He stated that he has sold real estate for the <br />past 20 years, and that people that want to <br />sell their homes that have neighbors with <br />trucks, would have to probably drop the asking <br />price of their house $10,000 to $15,000. He <br />feels that consideration should not be given for <br />big trucks parking within residential areas. <br />Harold Finney, 7624 Spring Lake Road, stated that <br />he owns a dump truck, that it is not a road truck, <br />and that his truck is no larger than many recrea- <br />tional vehicles. <br />Tom Foster, 2516 Ridge Lane, agrees with the <br />statements that were made by George Gustafson. <br />2nd Read of Ordinance No. <br />303 Amending the <br />Municipal Code of Mounds <br />View by amending Chapter <br />81, Entitled "Parking <br />
