Mounds View City Council September 28, 1981 <br />Meeting Page Two <br />'fficial Rose explained that the City had just <br />received a letter from the law office of Sherman <br />Bergstein, regarding Item D, but that in previous <br />discussion with Attorney Meyers, it was the <br />attorney's opinion that approval of the plat would <br />not landlock the area in question. He also <br />pointed out that the plat was before the Council <br />for preliminary approval, not final. <br />Mr. Bergstein asked that it be noted he was <br />present at the meeting. <br />Mayor McCarty stated that they have been advised <br />by Attorney Meyers that they can proceed. He <br />added that they have not received a plan from <br />Mr. Harstad. Attorney Karney advised the Council <br />they could proceed with the plat as presented, and <br />approve it. <br />Motion /Second: Hodges /Forslund to approve the <br />Consent Agenda, as corrected, minus Item C. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Mayor McCarty closed the regular meeting and <br />pened the first public hearing at 7:54 PM. <br />Finance Director Brager summarized the expected <br />revenues and proposed expenses for the 1982 <br />budget. <br />Mayor McCarty stated that it had been a very <br />difficult process to budget for 1982, and <br />stated that he would like additional time to <br />take one more look at the budget and see if <br />anything further could possibly be cut out. <br />He added that while the City must certify <br />the levys by October 10, they could do it <br />without approving the budget. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Hodges to have a <br />special budget work session meeting, on <br />October 1, 1981 at 6:30 PM. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Mayor McCarty closed the public hearing and <br />reopened the regular meeting at 8:13 PM. <br />3yor McCarty closed the regular meeting and <br />pened the public hearing at 8:13 PM. <br />Motion Carried <br />6.
