Mounds View City Council March 8, 1982 <br />Regular Meeting Page Three <br />Donald Gross, 8060 Groveland Road, stated tt re <br />is one junkyard on Groveland already and he did <br />not want another, and pointed out the problems <br />with the Whirlpool dealer and the K station and <br />the junk they present. He stated he was very <br />much against Mr. Johnson's request. He also <br />pointed out the City must police the existing <br />problems more. <br />John Wells, 8020 Groveland, stated his property <br />ajoins Mr. Johnson's and he felt his property <br />would depreciate in value if the request was <br />granted, and he was afraid it would turn into a <br />junkyard. <br />Jonathan Thomas, 8040 Groveland, stated he has <br />five children and had moved into the neighborhood <br />specifically because it was residential, and he <br />wants it to stay that way. He pointed out that <br />rezoning has been denied in that neighborhood <br />before, and he is totally against rezoning. <br />Steve Dahlke, 8030 Groveland stated he agreed <br />with Mr. Thomas's comments and that he was <br />concerned with his property value depreciating <br />and he was against rezoning. <br />Carroll Welte, 8045 Groveland Road, stated there <br />is already one junkyard with the Whirlpool <br />dealer and they don't need another one. <br />James Trimble, 7880 Groveland stated he has <br />lived in the area for two years and has not <br />had problems and he is in favor of the rezoning. <br />Roy Grue.il, 8080 Groveland Road, stated the <br />property in question could be sold in the future <br />and the City wouldn't know what would be going in. <br />He stated he was opposed to the rezoning. <br />Terry Bankston, 8025 Groveland Road, stated that <br />with the present policing problems the City is <br />having, he was against the rezoning. <br />The resident at 7365 Spring Lake Road stated his <br />property is next door to Mr. Johnson's present <br />business and that he is not opposed to the <br />rezoning. <br />Greg Johnson stated he has been in business for <br />two years across the highway and has kept it <br />clean. He stated he is only asking to put a <br />sign up and do the business in his garage. <br />
