Mayor McCarty closed the regular meeting and opened the first public hearing at 8:00 PM. Jim Bremmer, 2765 LaPort Drive, explained he had 5A. Fairchild Avenue initiated the proposal for the vacation of Right -of =Way Fairchild, and summarized the history of the area, Vacation citing the problems in maintaining it and the kids who play and ride their mini bikes there. Sue Gale, 8227 Groveland, stated she was there also to speak for Debbie Yost, her neighbor, and explained that if the vacation is approved, both of them would have the backs of their lots land locked, and would not be able to subdivide in the future. Mayor McCarty closed the public hearing and reopened the regular meeting at 8:12 PM. There was considerable discussion regarding both positions. Mayor McCarty explained that when the Gale addition was approved, it was felt then that a cul -de -sac could one day be put in to service the two lots in question. He added he was reluctant to land -lock the property. Attorney Meyers also reviewed the history of the property. Motion /Second: McCarty /Doty to direct Staff to prepare the necessary work for action by the Council to resolve the Fairchild easement, in particular the north portion easterly of the Gale addition, with preservation of the westerly portion behind 8205 Groveland Road, per the plat attached to the 6/24/82 memo from Staff. 5 ayes 0 nays Mayor McCarty closed the regular meeting and opened the second public hearing at 8:32 PM. Finance Director Brager made a presentation, explaining the process the City is going through with federal revenue sharing.
