Mounds View City Council August 9, 1982 <br />Regular Meeting Page Five <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Blanchard to approve <br />Resolution No. 1473, the Park Shelter Building <br />policy, and waive the reading of the resolution. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Motion /Second: Doty /Forslund to set project and <br />authorize payment of $2,361.03 to Stenco Con- <br />struction for the completion of the Lambert <br />Park shelter building. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Finance Director Brager reported the Finance Depart- <br />ment had been assisting in the completion of the audit, <br />and preparing the 1981 financial statements, as well as <br />doing the regular daily work. He reported the City is <br />doing very well with it's investments, earning <br />between 13 and 14 percent, for $376,000 during the <br />first half of the year. He added, however, the <br />interest rates have fallen now to between 10 and <br />11 percent. <br />Financ;_ Director Brager reported the City has made <br />it's last payment on the 1960 water improvement <br />project. He also reported the department is in <br />the process of working on the budget, and will be <br />involved in elections, as well as helping the <br />Engineering Department in the Silver Lake Woods <br />assessment project. He reported also that Mary <br />Tetarik has returned full time from her sick leave. <br />Director Johnson reported 99 building permits had <br />been issued in the second quarter, as well as 149 <br />housing inspections and reinspections, and 30 <br />HRA inspections. He added they have been working <br />on the reorganization, getting in place a working <br />foreman and a director on a part -time basis. <br />Director Johnson reported the seal coating is com- <br />plete, with the root treatment and sewer cleaning <br />program near completion, with the tv camera finding <br />some problem area. He added they are working on <br />the rusty water problem, have completed the installa- <br />tion of a manhole on Ardan Avenue, and are nearing <br />completion of several other projects. <br />Mayor McCarty reported the City Council, during the <br />course of restructuring the City Staff, changed <br />some positions and terminated some, and are nor. in <br />the process of setting the salary level for the <br />Building Inspector.
