Mounds View City Council August 9, 1982 Regular Meeting Page Five Motion /Second: McCarty /Blanchard to approve Resolution No. 1473, the Park Shelter Building policy, and waive the reading of the resolution. 5 ayes 0 nays Motion /Second: Doty /Forslund to set project and authorize payment of $2,361.03 to Stenco Con- struction for the completion of the Lambert Park shelter building. 5 ayes 0 nays Finance Director Brager reported the Finance Depart- ment had been assisting in the completion of the audit, and preparing the 1981 financial statements, as well as doing the regular daily work. He reported the City is doing very well with it's investments, earning between 13 and 14 percent, for $376,000 during the first half of the year. He added, however, the interest rates have fallen now to between 10 and 11 percent. Financ;_ Director Brager reported the City has made it's last payment on the 1960 water improvement project. He also reported the department is in the process of working on the budget, and will be involved in elections, as well as helping the Engineering Department in the Silver Lake Woods assessment project. He reported also that Mary Tetarik has returned full time from her sick leave. Director Johnson reported 99 building permits had been issued in the second quarter, as well as 149 housing inspections and reinspections, and 30 HRA inspections. He added they have been working on the reorganization, getting in place a working foreman and a director on a part -time basis. Director Johnson reported the seal coating is com- plete, with the root treatment and sewer cleaning program near completion, with the tv camera finding some problem area. He added they are working on the rusty water problem, have completed the installa- tion of a manhole on Ardan Avenue, and are nearing completion of several other projects. Mayor McCarty reported the City Council, during the course of restructuring the City Staff, changed some positions and terminated some, and are nor. in the process of setting the salary level for the Building Inspector.
