Mounds View City Council <br />Regular Meeting <br />'Clerk /Administrator Pauley reported the City had <br />received a petition for two streetlights on Pine- <br />'wood between Quincy and 35W, and after meeting with <br />NSP, it was determined the suggested locations would <br />not work, and two alternatives were suggested by NSP. <br />Motion /Se;.ond: Forslund /Hodges to grand the request <br />for streetlights on Pinewood Drive, between 2127 and <br />2119, and between 2085 and 2077. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Director Johnson brought to the Council's attention <br />that his contract with them expires on October 9, <br />and presented them with an amendment, extending it <br />to the end of the year. <br />Mayor McCarty stated they would like time to review <br />it in order to look at funding. Director Johnson <br />asked what he should do if he reaches 700 hours be- <br />fore the next meeting. The Council assured him that <br />they would be renewing the contract. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Blanchard to continue the <br />subject of the Public Works /Community <br />Development Director's contract until the next <br />agenda session on October 4, 1982. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Hodges to set a special <br />meeting on October 4, 1982 to deal with the pro- <br />fessional services contract for the Director of <br />Public Works /Community Development. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Director Johnson reported that Mr. Hanqqi had made <br />the statement that the quality of water he is <br />seeing presently is the worst it has even been since <br />he has worked for Mounds View. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Doty to authorize Staff to <br />immediately call a squad car and send bottled spring <br />water tc the resident, and charge to the contingency <br />account. <br />5 ayes 0 rays <br />Council took a 15 minute break while Director Johnson <br />and Councilmember Doty purchased spring water and took <br />it to the resident. <br />Finance Director Brager presented the Council with a <br />proposed resolution, levying a tax for delinquent <br />utility charges over a one year period. <br />September 27, 1982 <br />Page Five <br />15.
