Mounds View City Council <br />Regular Meeting <br />Motion /Second: Doty /Blanchard to approve the <br />second reading and adoption of Ordinance No. 343, <br />amending the municipal code of the City of Mounds <br />View by amending Chapter 60, "Building Code and <br />License Fees Chapter 61, "Plumbing Code Chapter <br />62, Electrical Code and Chapter 63, "Fire Code <br />and waive the reading of the ordinance. <br />Motion /Second: Doty /Linke to accept the recommenda- <br />tion of the Civil Service Commission, appointing <br />Officer Tim Smith for a 90 day period, to be <br />Acting Police Chief. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Councilmember <br />Councilmember <br />Councilmember <br />Councilmember <br />Mayor McCarty <br />Hankner aye <br />Blanchard aye <br />Doty aye <br />Linke aye <br />aye <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley explained that Staff has <br />evaluated the parking and determined there would <br />still be sufficient parking space to meet the <br />requirement. <br />Attorney Meyers explained the Building Inspector <br />determined this application to require a building per- <br />mit, and that it is not so much a zoning question as <br />it is a building code question, and since it is for <br />a commercial development, it is up to the Council's <br />descretion if they wish to review it. He added that <br />the developer has been warned that no liquor can be <br />consumed on the volleyball court, or outside in the <br />parking lot. <br />Mayor McCarty expressed concern with reaching too far <br />in controlling something of this nature. Attorney <br />Meyers further explained why it was before the Council. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Doty to approve the request <br />for a volleyball court and fence for the Loose -Ends <br />Night Club, with notification to the Police Department <br />of the potential for consumption of liquor in the <br />parking lot, or a conflict regarding the public <br />health, safety and welfare due to the proximity of <br />Highway 10. <br />June 27, 1983 <br />Page Three <br />8. 2nd Reading an <br />Adoption of <br />Ord.
