Mounds View City Council January 23, 1984 <br />Regular Meeting Page Eight <br />,Attorney Meyers reported that, as of January 1, 1984, 18. Report of <br />the City is responsible for prosecuting all gross Attorney <br />misdemenor offenses, which were previously handled <br />by the County Attorney's office. He also reported <br />that the consolidation of courts is still being <br />pursued, and updated the Council on the status of <br />those discussions. <br />Attorney Meyers reviewed some of the discussion <br />that occurred at a recent conference he attended <br />of the Municipal Attorney's Association, regarding <br />Citys getting into the finance business. <br />Councilmember Linke reported he had attended the <br />Ramsey County League meeting, on January 18, <br />where they had discussed the Ramsey County court <br />consolidation. <br />Councilmember Hankner had no report. <br />Councilmember Blanchard had no report. <br />Councilmember Doty reviewed an article he had <br />read regarding Group W and their efforts to get <br />their contract amended. <br />Mayor McCarty reported there is one applicant for <br />two commissions, and that after speaking to the <br />chairman of the Festivities Commission, they do not <br />feel there would be a problem in the same person <br />serving on both commissions. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Doty to appoint Jan Lindberg <br />to the Lakeside Park Commission for 3 years. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Blanchard to appoint Jan <br />Lindberg to the Festivities Commission for 3 years. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Mayor McCarty reported there are four applicants for <br />the Energy Commission, with seven being needed. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley advised there is a draft <br />resolution for the Commission, and he will place <br />the item on the next agenda for discussion. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Linke to appoint Jerry <br />Blanchard to fill the two year vacancy on the Police <br />Civil Service Commission. <br />4 ayes 0 nays 1 abstention <br />Councilmember Blanchard abstained from the vote. <br />19.
