Mounds View City Council March 26, 1984
Regular Meeting Page Three
and project, and reviewed the proposed development.
Mayor McCarty inquired if any of the north side of the
project would touch the flood plain. Mr. Bolin
explained that the flood plain is at 902, and the
project will be between 903 and 903k when it is
finished.
Director Thatcher showed the existing drainage ditch
on the property, and reported it was John Johnson's
opinion that the ditch could be filled and there
would still be adequate storage.
Mr. Bolin presented a sketch of the flood plain area.
Alex Levitan, 2051 Long Lake Road, New Brighton,
asked what the rental range would be on the units.
Mayor McCarty explained to Mr. Levitan that Mr.
Anderson would not be required to answer that question
as it had no bearing on the purpose of the public
hearing.
Lucy Levitan, 2051 Long Lake Road, New Brighton,
asked if there would be common hallways in the
buildings, and what the development timetable
would be.
Mr. Bolin showed on their drawing where there would
be two separate entrances for each building, and
there would be no common hallways.
Mayor McCarty explained the Council would be dis-
cussing the development timetable after the public
hearing was concluded.
Mayor McCarty closed the public hearing at 7:50 PM.
Mayor McCarty reviewed that the applicant's request
is for approval of a planned unit development,
including a conditional use permit for the flood
plain excavation, a flood plain use petit and a
major subdivision.
Clerk /Administrator Pauley reminded the Council that
they had received Resolution No. 102 -84, from the
Planning Commission, recommending approval of the
development.
Mayor McCarty asked if the correspondence from the
Commissioner of the DNR is needed prior to approval.
City Attorney Meyers advised that if the Council
approves the project, the developer must enter into
a development agreement, with which he must meet
all the requirements, and that any motion made by
the Council would be contingent upon the applicant
entering into the development agreement.
