Mounds View City Council July 9, 1984 <br />Regular Meeting Page Six <br />favor of tabling the item, as he does not feel the <br />stop signs are needed. <br />Councilmember Blanchard stated she would like a <br />traffic count done of the area. <br />Mayor McCarty stated he would rather deny the <br />placement of the stop -sign, and have the Police <br />Department take action against the speeders. <br />Councilmember }iankner stated she was in favor <br />of tabling, as there are still a number of things <br />to be checked out. <br />Mayor McCarty closed the regular meeting and opened <br />the next public hearing at 8:44 PM. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reviewed the changes to <br />proposed Resolution No. 1766. <br />Mayor McCarty asked if the City would be liable if <br />an error was made in designing the project. Clerk/ <br />Administrator Pauley replied the City does have <br />insurance coverage. <br />The Council discussed the merits of getting involved <br />in something of this nature. <br />Mayor McCarty closed the public hearing at 8:48 PM <br />and reopened the regular meeting. <br />Motion /Second: Linke /Doty to approve Resolution <br />No. 1766 and waive the reading. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Mayor McCarty closed the regular meeting and opened <br />the next public hearing at 8 :50 PM. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Doty to approve Resolution <br />No. 1765 and waive the reading, with the following <br />amendment, that in the final be it further resolved. <br />that the security approved by the City be in an <br />amount equal to five years payment of the assess- <br />ments, rather than 3 years, and add another be it <br />further resolved, with the City having the option <br />to reduce the security by 20% for the taxes and <br />assessments, as the work is completed. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />The representative for Mr. Beim stated he would <br />discuss the motion with Mr. Beim, and they would <br />be meeting with Mr. Rose and Mr. Thatcher on <br />July 11. <br />6B.
