Mounds View City Council <br />Regular Meeting <br />'Finance Director Brager reviewed progress to date with <br />the new personal computer. He stated they have had <br />difficulties in some areas, and hope to have payroll <br />working soon. He also reviewed briefly the City's <br />investment situation and the interest that is being <br />earned. <br />Police Chief Ramacher reported that the police reports <br />are now being published in the New Brighton Bulletin <br />and Minneapolis Star and Tribune. He reported that <br />theft and vandalism are up in the first six months <br />over last year, but arrests are also up. <br />Police Chief Ramacher reported all officers had <br />completed a comprehensive physical exam, done through <br />Group Health. He also reported they had given a <br />crime prevention seminar at the Towns Edge trailer <br />park in June which had gone over very well. <br />Police Chief Ramacher reported he had attended the <br />Chief of Police conference in April, and found it <br />very interesting. <br />Civil Service Commission Chairman Jerry Blanchard <br />reported the commission will soon begin the process <br />of screening applicants and making a recommendation <br />to the Council to fill the upcoming vacancy in the <br />police department. <br />Attorney Meyers reported he had a discussion with <br />Park and Recreation Director Anderson regarding <br />the repealing of Chapter 50, which would be <br />coming before the Council soon. <br />Councilmember Quick reported Greenfield Park seems <br />to be doing quite well and is busy at all times. <br />Councilmember Blanchard reported she had attended <br />the Fire Department benefit meeting last week and <br />received their financial statement, which she <br />turned over to Clerk /Administrator Pauley. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley stated he would be meeting <br />with the administrators of Blaine and Spring Lake Park <br />within the next few weeks. He would like to have an <br />independent accounting firm come in and review the <br />actuarial reports, and he will be seeking the <br />support of the two other cities. <br />16.
