.Mounds View City Council <br />Regular Meeting <br />1 7,inance Director Brager reported he had assisted <br />n counting ballots during the special election. <br />Jne machine will be sent in for repair, as they <br />had trouble with it during the election. <br />Finance Director Brager reviewed investments <br />that had been made with the City's money, which <br />resulted in $400,589 in interest earned during <br />1 985, with a return of 8.8 <br />Finance Director Brager reported he has been <br />appointed to the Board of Directors of the <br />Minnesota Governor's Finance Organization for <br />1986. <br />Police Chief Ramacher reviewed the crime statis- <br />tics for 1985 versus 1984, explaining there was <br />about a one percent increase in total crime. He <br />presented overheads showing the breakdowns in <br />the various categories and how they compared <br />between the two years. <br />Chief Ramacher reviewed the personnel changes for <br />the past year. He added they are looking forward <br />to having the new computer in City Hall, and in <br />getting the reserve officers in place. <br />Director Thatcher reviewed the 12 full -time <br />positions in the Public Works /Community Development <br />department and what they do. He updated the Council <br />on the ongoing activities of each area. <br />Director Thatcher presented an overhead, comparing <br />1985 and 1984 statistics on applications and <br />permits and revenues. He added he will be presenting <br />the Council with a memo at their next agenda session <br />regarding the proposed addition to the public works <br />garage, and projected costs. <br />Motion /Second: Blanchard /Quick to approve Resolu- <br />tion No. 1976, setting the 1986 wage for the police <br />department part -time clerk typist, and waive the <br />reading. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reviewed the reasons <br />for the budget overrun in the fire department. <br />ouncilmember Blanchard reported she will be attend- <br />ing the Fire Board meeting next week, and will <br />report back to the Council. <br />January 27, 1986 <br />Page Four <br />10.
