Mounds View City Council <br />Regular Meeting <br />irector Thatcher reviewed a proposed press release <br />:garding the problems of residents discharging sump <br />sum into the sanitary sewer rather than the street <br />gutter. He! explained they are asking for voluntary <br />compliance, and the dumping into the sanitary sewer <br />increases the City's charge from the MWCC, which is <br />then passed along to the residents. <br />There was discussion among the Council of the best way <br />to get the word out to the citizens, and the costs <br />involved in doing a mailing and printing labels. They <br />also discussed amending the building code chapter to <br />require where the drain line be installed, which would <br />alleviate this problem. <br />Councilmember Blanchard had no report. <br />Councilmember Quick had no report. <br />It was the concensus of the Council to publish the <br />press release in the New Brighton Bulletin and in the <br />next City newsletter. <br />Attorney Meyers reminded the Council of the hearing <br />at 7:30 PM this evening at Spring Lake Park High <br />School concerning the EIS. He explained he had <br />met with Mr. Merritt and he reviewed some of the <br />statements from MAC and the MPCA, and what the <br />'ssues are that are to be discussed. <br />Councilmember Haake inquired whether an article would <br />be in the New Brighton Bulletin regarding the upcoming <br />informational meeting on the airport. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley replied one would be in <br />this weeks edition, as well as a message posted on <br />the sign board in front of City Hall, and on the cable <br />channel. <br />Councilmember Hankner stated she was pleased with <br />the information she has seen on the access channel. <br />She also stated they should get working on the <br />City Council /Staff picnic and have an organizational <br />meeting.
