Mounds View City Council December 8, 1986 <br />Regular Meeting Page Three <br />gili Attorney Meyers reported the City had appeared before 10. Report of <br />Judge Murphy on November 13 regarding the Williams Attorney <br />Pipeline case, but no decision has bean rendered yet. <br />He added they have gone back to amend the original <br />lawsuit to include property and punitive damages on <br />behalf of the City. <br />Councilmember Hankner stated she felt it was important 11. <br />to have proper Staff training, in order that they <br />could better serve the public. In an effort to try <br />and more clearly outline the job responsibilities of <br />the Public Works Foreman, she would be making the <br />following motion. <br />Motion /Second: Hankner /Quick to have the responsi- <br />bilities of the Public Works Foreman limited to only <br />Public Works, Fire Inspection and Class II Building <br />Inspection duties, through the end of the current <br />winter snow season, and until further organizational <br />evaluations are completed, and at the current salary <br />level. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Mayor Linke and Councilmember Hankner asked how much <br />ite was going on that would require building inspections <br />in the near future. <br />Director Thatcher replied that not much will be going <br />on in the next few months, and Brian Hoffman could <br />handle the inspections. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley stated he would work out <br />the details with Director Thatcher and make sure the <br />majority of the Public Works Foreman's time is spent <br />with Public Works. <br />Mayor Linke stated the Council would likely be meeting <br />with Staff in late January or early February, for the <br />annual goal setting session. <br />Motion /Second: Linke /Haake that the Council search <br />for a professional consultant to conduct a management <br />organization evaluation of City Staff, and have <br />Councilmember Hankner conduct a search for a consultant <br />and make a proposal and recommendation to the Council <br />by January 1, 1987. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Reports of <br />Councilmembers: <br />Councilmember <br />Hankner <br />Motion Carried <br />Motion Carried <br />
