Mounds View City Council June 22, 1987 <br />Regular Meeting Page Five <br />Shari Hanlen, 2108 Quinell Drive, stated she is an <br />employee at Tom Thumb and everyone who signed the <br />petition was very willing to do so. She added the K Gas <br />station does not have regular hours and cannot be relied <br />on by someone needing gas at night. <br />Mayor Linke closed the public hearing and reopened the <br />regular meeting at 7:54 PM. <br />Mayor Linke closed the regular meeting and opened the <br />third public hearing at 7:54 PM. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reviewed the proposed Pre- <br />liminary plat, and stated the Planning Commission <br />reviewed the application and recommends approval of <br />the preliminary plat by the City Council. He added <br />that Staff would recommend the Council make approval <br />contingent upon the applicant receiving approval from <br />the City of Blaine to provide sewer and water services <br />to the development. <br />John Forsberg, the applicant, had no comment to make <br />on the request. <br />Mayor Linke closed the public hearing and reopened <br />Ole regular meeting at 7:56 PM. <br />Motion /Second: Blanchard /Quick to approve the pre- <br />liminary plat for the major subdivision of North Star <br />Industrial Park, subject to an agreement with the City <br />of Blaine for sewer and water. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reviewed the request by <br />Mr. Johnson to rezone his property from R -1 to R -0, <br />and he outlined the uses allowable in R -0 zoning. <br />He added the Planning Commission has reviewed the <br />request and recommends approval of the rezoning. <br />Mr. Johnson stated he is hoping to sell the property <br />for a use that is allowable in R -0 zoning, and that <br />type of business would have more regular hours than <br />what he has there presently, and they would close <br />their doors and go home at night. <br />Steve Dahl-e, 8030 Groveland Road, asked what had <br />happened to the lawsuits on this property. <br />a Attorney Meyers explained they were referred back <br />"'to Ramsey County District Court for further pro- <br />ceedings, and in the meantime Mr. Johnson applied <br />for the rezoning, and if granted, this would solve <br />the problem.
