Mounds View City Council February 8, 1988 <br />Regular Meeting Page Four <br />W4 torney Meyers reported that Amoco Oil has brought suit 11. Report of <br />.against the City to compel the issuance of a conditional Attorney <br />use permit for the construction of a gas station at the <br />intersection of Silver Lake Road and Highway 10, which <br />the City had earlier denied. He reported there had been <br />a hearing on February 5 for a summary judgement, at which <br />time the City argued it's case, and it is now under the <br />advisement of the judge. <br />Attorney Meyers reported Williams Pipeline Company is <br />preparing a motion to prohibit the City from using the <br />National Transportation Safety Board report in their <br />lawsuit against Williams, and they will be going to court <br />to get the issue resolved, and he reviewed the status of <br />the lawsuit. <br />Councilmember Wuori had no report. <br />Councilmember Quick had no report. Councilmember <br />Quick <br />4 e ouncilmember Hankner reported she had received a <br />tter from a resident complaining about pornography <br />ing shown on cable tv, and she asked what controls <br />the City has over what is broadcast on the air. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley explained Staff is already <br />seeking legal advise from the cable's counsel, and <br />a report should be ready within the next few days. <br />He explained the only way this broadcast, which is <br />on channel 34, can be received in the home is by <br />specifically requesting and paying to view it. He <br />added there is a lock -out box on each television to <br />lock that particular channel out, if the owner wishes <br />to do so, or the cable company can come out and prevent <br />the station from even coming into the home. <br />Mayor Linke reported the Pinewood playground group would <br />be sponsoring a spaghetti dinner fund- raiser at Edgewood <br />Community Center on Wednesday, February 24 from 4 -7 PM, <br />at which time a raffle will also be conducted, and he <br />encouraged people to purchase tickets. <br />Mayor Linke reported on the Governor's Safety conference, <br />sponsored by the MN Department of Public Safety, scheduled for <br />March 10 and 11. <br />i llikerk/Administrator Pauley reviewed the determination <br />of MnDOT regarding the ponding for Everest Development, <br />and that in view of the need for additional ponding area, <br />it will be necessary for the City Council to amend their <br />12.
