Mounds View City Council September 26, 1988 <br />Regular Meeting Page Five <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley replied Staff was aware <br />of that and would look into it. <br />Councilmember Quick suggested highlighting the street <br />maintenance program in the next newsletter. He <br />stated he has received questions on why things were <br />done as they were. <br />Councilmember Hankner reprted the fence along the <br />walkway the City owns across from Edgewood is in <br />horrible shape and is an eye sore, and requested it <br />be fixed up, as it is City property. <br />Councilmember Hankner brought 90 the issue of garage <br />sale signs. They have been discussed in the past and <br />while it was agreed it is difficult to enforce, some <br />Cities do prohibit their placement on utility poles. <br />Attorney Karney advised that unless someone is <br />actually observed to be putting a sign up, it is next <br />to impossible to prove they did it, or to get a <br />conviction. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley directed City Planner <br />Herman to research the issue, in conjunction with <br />the sign code update the Planning Commission will be <br />doing. <br />Councilmember Wuori had no report. <br />Councilmember Quick had no report. <br />Councilmember Blanchard had no report. <br />Mayor Linke advised the representatives of Amoco Oil <br />Company that their request had been acted on earlier <br />in the meeting and he advised that while it did pass, <br />several comments were made by the Council and he <br />suggested Amoco make arrangements to view the video <br />tape of the meeting. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reported the Library <br />Board has requested a meeting with the Council <br />concerning the on -going issue of acquiring the <br />Long Lake Road site for the Mounds View library. <br />He reviewed the dates offered by the Board and it <br />was agreed by the Council to meet with them at the <br />Roseville Library at 7 PM on Monday, October 17. <br />Since that is a regular agenda night, the Council <br />will call to order at 6 PM, adjourn to go to Roseville <br />and meet with the Board, and then reconvene at City <br />Hall if there is further business to complete. <br />Councilmember <br />Wuori <br />Councilmember <br />Quick <br />Councilmember <br />Blanchard <br />Mayor Linke <br />19.
